# Getting started – create a project

The first step is to load an AUTOMAPPPS project (.ap) or to creating a new one. If your new project is related to previsous ones, or uses the same cell or tool, it is often the fasted to load a simular project and maybe exchange the robot or the cell or the parts/workpieces. "Copy and paste" alike usually safes time to creating from scratch - unless too many issues are different. It is also possible to start "fresh" and import only parts of the job from previous project-files.
